In our house, Sundays have become a cozy tradition where we make brunch, then go for a frosty morning walk together.
We mix it up between pancakes and french toast, and lately, my fluffy french toast recipe has been winning by a landslide. While I love trying out different recipes and experimenting with new flavours, sometimes an oldie is just a goodie and simple is the way to go. I adore this simple recipe and it has the perfect flavour. We eat ours slathered in butter and drizzled with real maple syrup. Sooo gooooood.
Simple & Fluffy French Toast
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup of milk
- 1 tsp real vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- pinch of sea salt
Heat a frying pan and melt a pat of butter in the center. In a shallow dish, beat the egg and add milk, vanilla, cinnamon and sea salt. Dip both sides of the bread slice in the egg mixture and cook for 2 minutes or so per side, until brown. Serve immediately.
